中国政府は2024年3月に、IntelやAMDなど海外製のチップの使用をやめ、中国企業の製品を用いるようにする方針を表明し、ガイドラインを発表しています。

The Wall Street Journalによれば、工業情報化部は大手通信キャリアである中国移動通信(チャイナモバイル)と中国電信(チャイナテレコム)に対して、中国以外の製品がネットワーク内で使われていないかを精査し、交換に向けたスケジュールを作るように求めたとのこと。
期限は2027年となっており、3年以内に海外製品の排除を実現したい政府の姿勢が表れています。
中国製製品への置き換えを政府が推進する理由としては、アメリカとの間の摩擦のほかに、中国製チップの品質向上と安定した性能が実現されつつあり、置き換えが現実味を持つようになったことが挙げられています。
