Midjourneyユーザーであるニック・サンピエール氏によると、Midjourneyは2024年3月2日深夜にBOTの活動を検知したとのこと。

Discordで共有されたMidjourneyの会議概要には、「有料アカウントからBOTと疑われた活動があったため、24時間サービスを停止したこと」「問題のBOTはStability AIの従業員がプロンプトと画像の組み合わせを取得していた疑いがあること」「Stability AIの全従業員のアカウントをMidjourneyのサービスから永久BANしたこと」が書かれており、「積極的な自動化やサービスを停止させるような行為は、責任ある企業の全従業員の追放につながる」という新しいポリシーも示されました。

サンピエール氏によると、複数の有料アカウントを使うことで、プロンプトと画像URLを取得するスクレイピングを行っていたとのこと。その活動が大規模かつ異常だったため、Midjourneyもサービスを一時停止せざるを得なかったそうです。
サンピエール氏のポストに対して、Stability AIのエマド・モスタークCEOは「え、何事」と反応し、「Stable Diffusion 3が他のすべてのモデルよりも優れており、合成データやその他のデータを使っているため、スクレイピングは行っていません」とコメントしました。
